Privacy Policy

The short version: your records are yours. They live on your phone first, sync to a private cloud space only your account can reach, are never public, never sold, and never used for advertising. We collect the minimum needed to run the app.
What we collect
Account information. Your email address and a password (stored only as a secure hash — we cannot read it).
The content you add. Asset records, parts, maintenance and fuel entries, notes, photos, and documents. This stays on your device and, when you sync, is stored in your private cloud space.
Crash and error reports. If the app hits a problem, it sends us a technical report (the error message, app version, phone platform). These reports do not include your records, photos, or documents.
Feedback you send. If you use Send Feedback, we receive your message and your account email so we can respond.
We do not collect your location, contacts, browsing history, or advertising identifiers. There are no ads and no third-party analytics trackers in the app.
AI features
Some features send a photo or document to an AI service to read it — only when you tap a scan button (Scan Receipt, Scan Manual, Scan Data Plate, Scan Part Number). The image is sent to our AI processing provider, the extracted text is returned to you for review, and the image is not used to train AI models by us. If you never tap a scan button, nothing is ever sent to an AI service.
Where your data lives
Your data is stored on your device and, when synced, on servers in United States data centers (currently DigitalOcean). Photos and documents are stored in private cloud storage that is not publicly accessible; the app retrieves them using short-lived signed links tied to your account.
Who can see your data
You. Your content is private to your account and is not shared with, visible to, or searchable by other users. We do not sell or rent your data to anyone. Server administrators can technically access stored data for maintenance and support, but do not browse it. We would disclose data only if legally required (for example, a valid court order).
How long we keep it
As long as you have an account. Items you delete are removed from your devices; cloud copies are retained temporarily as a safety net against accidental loss and are then cleaned up. You can request deletion of your account and all cloud data at [CONTACT EMAIL], and we will delete it within 30 days.
Children
SpecSilo is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy in a material way, we will notify you in the app before the change takes effect.
